Biography

Chris Foye is a Brooklyn-born filmmaker, director, producer, screenwriter, and community activist whose work sits at the intersection of raw street storytelling and cinematic excellence. With over 15 years in independent film, Foye has built a reputation as one of New York's most authentic voices in urban cinema.

As the creator and director of War Retroactive, Foye brings an unflinching lens to the streets of 1993 Brooklyn — a true story of survival, loyalty, and the cost of urban warfare. The series stars Marc John Jefferies, widely known for portraying young 50 Cent in the hit film Get Rich or Die Trying, directed by Jim Sheridan.

Foye's filmmaking philosophy is rooted in truth. Every frame of War Retroactive is drawn from real events, real people, and real consequences — a commitment that has earned the series critical acclaim and a fiercely loyal audience. His ability to transform lived experience into compelling narrative is what separates his work from conventional crime drama.

Beyond the camera, Foye is a dedicated community activist, partnering with organizations like the Department of Youth & Rehabilitation Services to ensure his work creates real-world impact beyond the screen. Through his Street-to-Screen mentorship program, he has guided dozens of young filmmakers from Brooklyn and the surrounding boroughs into careers in the entertainment industry.

As founder of CSO Communications, Foye continues to develop original content that amplifies underrepresented voices, challenges mainstream narratives, and honors the communities that shaped him.
